Event Description: The COVID-19 pandemic has made the public health field more apparent and appreciated. However, the risk of regression post-pandemic is high. We need to act together now to prevent the next pandemic. Making public health visible and understood is a key step for emergency preparedness as well as other public health issues. Facilitating the sharing of knowledge, resources, and barriers faced by public health professionals globally is key to improving public health capacity in all contexts. In order to sustainably promote the capacity building of public health system by implementing One Health approach at global and national levels, a hybrid webinar entitled “Rethinking Public Health Paradigms: systems thinking with One Health approach” will be arranged with two sessions. In the first session, an opening ceremony will be held followed by six key note speeches related One Health implementations in various scenarios around the world, to provide case studies for promoting the capacity of public health system with focus on the capacity building on emerging and re-emerging zoonoses control, antimicrobial resistant surveillance, food security monitoring, impact assessment of climate changes on health, One Health governance, etc. In the second session, a panel discussion will be arranged with two topics, including (i) the challenges and opportunities for One Health action to promote rethinking public health paradigms at global and national levels, and (ii) lessons sharing on One Health implementation to promote the capacity of the public health system from your country.
