President of the Mission Board for Cancer of the European Commission, he is also Coordinator of the Scientific Advisory Board of Human Technopole Foundation. He is the current President of the World Federation of Public Health Associations.

Professor at the Federal University of Bahia, Prof De Sousa has a degree in Medicine, a Master’s degree in Community Health and a Doctorate in Public Health from the University of Montreal. In addition to his academic activities, he has assumed important political and managerial positions including being the Director General of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Health. He has been a leading member of the Brazilian Association of Collective Health (Abrasco). He is the current Vice-President of the World Federation of Public Health Associations.

Prof. Laetitia Rispel

Professor and past Dean at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in Johannesburg, Prof. Rispel holds a Research Chair from the Department of Science and Technology and National Research Foundation. She was the President of the Public Health Association of South Africa from 2008 to 2014. She is one of commissioners of the South African Lancet Commission, established as part of the Lancet Global Health Commission on High-Quality Health Systems in the Sustainable Development Goals era. She is the current Immediate Past President of the World Federation of Public Health Associations.

Dr Amofah is a public health consultant with extensive expertise covering health systems strengthening, health policy and service delivery, monitoring and evaluation of health services, epidemiology and disease control. He was the Deputy Director General of Ghana Health Service, Vice-President of the Ghana Public Health Association and the Chairman of the Geneva-based global Roll Back Malaria Partnership Board. He represents the African region on the WFPHA Governing Council.

Dr. Dominique Kondji Kondji

Dr Kondji Kondji is a senior nurse with a public health post graduate Diploma of the Regional Intercountry Higher School of Public Health in Central Africa. He is a founding member and President of the Cameroon Public Health Association and a member of the Executive Committee of the African Federation of Public Health Associations. He represents the African region on the WFPHA Governing Council.

Dr. Hernando Nieto

Colombian Association of Public Health
Dr. Nieto is a Colombian Physician who specialises in Public Health, with a Master’s Degree in Political Studies and International Relations. He was President of the Colombian Association of Public Health and a founding member of the Alliance of Public Health Associations of the Americas. He represents the American region on the WFPHA Governing Council.

Dr. Miguel Gerardo Lombera

Mexican Society of Public Health
Dr Lombera is a Medical Doctor who specialises in Epidemiology. He has been Director of Epidemiological Emergencies, Private Secretary of the Undersecretariat of Disease Prevention and Control, General Director of the National Public Health Laboratory, Director General of Environmental Health as well as Commission of Evidence and Risk Management and Health Authorisation of the Federal Commission for Protection against Health Risks. He has been the President of the Mexican Society of Public Health. He represents the American region on the WFPHA Governing Council.

Adrian Te Patu

Public Health Association of New Zealand
Mr Te Patu is a Maori Caucus member. He has worked for government departments, crown agencies, Iwi and District Health Boards. He has also served on the board of the Health Promotion Forum of New Zealand and has been an elected member of the Christchurch City Council on the Lyttelton Mt Herbert Community Board. He was the Co-Vice President of the Public Health Association of New Zealand. He represents Asia-Pacific region on the WFPHA Governing Council where he is also the first indigenous member.

Dr Liang is the Executive Vice President and Secretary General of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association. Previously Director of the National Immunisation Programme and Deputy Director and standing member of the Party Committee of China CDC, he has been a committee member of the SAGE group. He currently represents the Asia-Pacific region on the WFPHA Governing Council.

Dr Nicoulet is Head of Department, in charge of preventing and screening infectious diseases in the Seine Saint Denis district. She is a member of the research team on « Education, Ethic, Health » collaboration between General Practitioner medicine, Public Health and Education and Training. She represents the European region on the WFPHA Governing Council.

Dr. Geir Sverre Braut

Dr Braut is a medical practitioner who specialises in community medicine. He has been Deputy Chief county medical officer and Deputy Director General at the Norwegian Board of Health Supervision. Since 2014 he has been working as Senior Advisor at the Department of research at Stavanger University Hospital and Professor at University of Stavanger and Western Norway University College. His main areas of research concern societal safety, community risk mitigation and emergency preparedness and interinstitutional collaboration. He is currently representing the European region on the WFPHA Governing Council.

Dr. Perdes is a Public Health specialist and Medical Doctor with over 12 years of professional experience in programme management, capacity building and research in government and non-government organisations. He is currently serving as International Relations Coordinator at the Afghanistan National Public Health Association. He represents the Eastern-Mediterranean/Middle East region on the WFPHA Governing Council.

Dr. Sanghamitra Ghosh

Dr. Ghosh is a senior administrative grade Chief Medical Officer working in the field of reproductive health, maternal and child health. She is currently Secretary General at the Indian Public Health Association and she also works as a medical professional in a tertiary care hospital of Kolkata under the Government of India. She is currently representing the South East Asia region on the WFPHA Governing Council.

Dr Buttigieg is a Specialist in Public Health Medicine with a deep interest in Clinical Informatics, Social Media and Digital Health. He currently lectures at the University of Malta Faculty of Health Sciences on the topics of Digital Health and Social Media in Healthcare. He is the Vice-President of the EUPHA Section on Digital Health. He currently represents the Students and Young professionals on the WFPHA Governing Council.
