Public Health Answers: A New Video Series

The COVID-19 pandemic has altered the state of global health and challenged our capacity to respond to health inequity. Now, more than ever, individuals and entire nations are recognizing the crucial role of public health in our lives. During the pandemic, the need for accessing authentic information and sharing knowledge has become apparent. To promote and protect global health, the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) has made it a main mission of theirs to facilitate the spread of accurate information and resources. Likewise, the organization has prioritized their knowledge translation efforts across all sectors. To fulfil this vision, the WFPHA initiates a program called “Public Health Answers”.

Each episode of this new video series invites leading public health experts from around the world to answer several questions related to the COVID-19 pandemic and share their experiences and knowledge. While the program serves to provide viewers with authentic information and guidance, as told through the experience of world-class experts, there is also ample opportunity for learning. Each session encourages young public health professionals to ask important questions, think critically about global health, and prepare them for the next generation of public health leadership.

Moving forward, the WFPHA is excited to continue outreach with the global public health community to encourage speakers to share their insights, promote advocacy, and enhance health and information literacy. The COVID-19 pandemic has presented opportunities to build momentum for addressing health inequity. “Public Health Answers” is an important part of this movement to help create awareness and engage others in public health efforts throughout the pandemic and beyond.
