Theme: Making Health a Human Right

Event Description: Ministry of Health, Mongolian National Human Rights Commission, and Institute for Strategic Studies will jointly organize “Consultative Meeting on Health is Human Rights”. The objective of the meeting is to consult and build a common understanding on how health is becoming a human rights issue and how to protect this right in a turbulent world and less sustainable society. Each organizer will give presentations on the current situation of health rights in Mongolia. The participants will apart from representatives of the organizers, from National Center Against Violence, women’s NGOs, Mongolian Consumers Association and Health Professionals Association. The meeting in order to make health human rights, will discuss how to reach the highest attainable standard of health, how to build and provide equitable, accessible, affordable, and quality health services to the population, how to avoid any discrimination in health services and how to encourage the participation of the patients and to be informed. The expected outcomes are to build ground for turning health as human rights in reality through having common understanding and consultation amongst different stakeholders and some recommendations on making health as human rights in the context of Mongolia will be developed. Event information will be displayed on the websites of organizing bodies and broadcast through social media channels.
