10th International Congress on Public Health - Brighton, UK (2004)

At the 2004 Congress in Brighton, UK, WFPHA organized a series of Leadership Workshops and Global Action Sessions in order to highlight some of the key public health issues of our time and to promote awareness, action, and leadership in such key issues.

The Leadership Workshop topics included:

• Public Health: Its Role in Conflict Resolution, Peace and Human Rights
• Public Health in the 21 st Century: Crisis or Opportunity
• Improving the Quality of the Public Health Workforce
• Adapting to Change: Learning from History

The Global Action Session topics included:

• Public Health Challenges to HIV/AIDS Treatment
• Toward Ratification and Implementation of the Framework Convention for Tobacco Control (FCTC)
• Revitalizing Handwashing: An Evidence-based Public Health Measure
• SARS: Public Health and Economic Implications
• Global Environmental Health Initiatives
• Promoting Fruit and Vegetables for Health
